In late 2023 we announced a sister travel company, Fencox(opens in a new tab). It became apparent to us that there was a growing need for:
- specialist trips for people travelling solo, and
- a private supplement for said solo travellers.
This came about, in part, from speaking with the tons of people who enquired about (and booked) our Magnificent Rail trips.
There was a clear pattern emerging around our Rail trips, as we predicted! The majority of booked guests tend to be couples, but also friendship duos (besties) and so on.
Not to discount the solo traveller of course! But in most cases our booked solo travellers were happily relying on us to match them with a roomie for the twin-share option.
But over time, we came to realise that there were enough enquiries from solo travellers wanting private supplements around the same type of travel adventures we are offering at Magnificent Rail. The same can be said for our women’s-only brand, Patch Adventures – private supplements are a deal-breaker for some, apparently.😄
So the end result was a bit of a no-brainer! Not to mention, the Fencox solution is an option for both men and women.
And by the way, we are keeping the travel groups nice and small for Fencox as well – as we are able to better manage the quality of the trips.
